Add Your Massage Business
Adding your massage business is easy. Just create a login and create a profile and write a post about your business. You can create a login in the box at the right. You must have a working email address to receive the login information. You can add photos, links to your website and contact info. You can update your info at anytime.
This service will be free until Nov. 1 2009, where I will be reassessing the fee structure and needs of therapists.
Writing as much info as you can will help you to get traffic to your website. If you do not yet have a website this can act as a website for you. You can write as much information as you would like about yourself and your practice. Tell people what you do, what types of clients you work with and why. Refer to massage research when you can. I will be creating a research section here for massage therapists to refer to.
Include:
- Location
- Services offered
- Prices
- Office hours
- Your Philosophy on doing and using massage
- Research that supports using massage
- Information about the types of massage that you offer
- What solution do you provide?
- What sets you apart from all of the other massage therapists.
Create a link to your own website. This will help in building traffic to your website and will also help in getting search engines to list and rank your site. Getting found on search engines is partly a result of how many other websites link to your site and also how you use the keywords in your site and pages.
Let me know if you have any questions or problems with creating your listing. You need to have a valid email so the automated system can create and send you your login information.
How do we get listed in your Wa Massage directory? Could not find the following, ‘click on register under the login box above.’ It did not show.
Hi Liz,
I just added the section on the right to create your login. I had to take it off because of spammers and will hopefully get around to improving the system this weekend.
Thanks!
Julie
Stillpoint Therapeutic Massage And School of Integrated Movement Studies
Spokane, Washington – Coeur d’Alene, Idaho
In Office or Out Calls Welcome
Stillpoint Therapeutic Massage (STM) spans a wide variety of therapeutic manual approaches to improve health and well being through hands-on manipulation of muscles and soft tissue structures to prevent and alleviate pain, muscle spasms, stress and injury, including childhood neuromuscular disorders. This bodywork improves the functioning of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems and assists the body’s recovery rate from injury and stress.
The School of Integrated Movement Studies (SIMS) connects and supports individuals and organizations, transforming Body Intelligence into wellbeing and effective action. Body Intelligence embraces the concept of innate wisdom of body experience acquired throughout our lives. Our physical bodies change in response to experience. This experience is influenced by the structure and function of our bodies. With this integrative perspective we explore how sensations, feelings and actions are embodied, how they are discovered in our expression of physicality, posture and movement. Awareness of body wisdom enhances and empowers us by assisting with dynamic balance and integrated body function affecting ease, presence, creativity and cognition. This in turn influences positive change in quality of life.
Core-based movement and strengthening series is designed to develop flexibility, improve endurance and increase range of motion. Breath-work, grounding studies, awareness practice, self massage and stretching sequences create a balance to the movement and strengthening series.
Emphasis on gravitational and energetic centering and alignment enhances awareness of the body in stillness and motion. Improvements will be noticed in the effectiveness of movement, balance of form, flow of energy and the development of innate physical strength and stamina. Ultimately these improvements benefit and enhance the endocrine, circulatory, visceral, nervous and structural systems.
STM-SIMS brings together the philosophy and training of 40 years in dance and healing practice by offering movement for health and manual therapy for healing and rejuvenation.

Trigger Point Therapy/Neuromuscular Therapy
Involves the application of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction. Trigger Point therapy is also referred to as myofascial trigger point.
Post-Pregnancy Massage
Or post-natal massage, is designed for mothers who have relatively recently given birth. Post-pregnancy massage relieves muscle spasms and cramps associated with the stress of extra weight bearing and the physical changes that occur during pregnancy by enhancing postural readjustment, blood and lymph circulation, reducing edema and increasing cellular respiration, all necessary in the dynamic return of one’s body to a post-gestation state of balance.
Swedish Massage
Is a gentle rhythmic massage given to relax soft tissue and facilitate healing to contribute to an overall sense of well-being. Swedish massage is widely prescribed by physicians to enhance medical treatment for many therapeutic and constitutional healing processes.
Cancer Patients and Massage Therapy
Massage has been used medicinally and to reduce stress for tens of thousands of years. Many individuals who have experienced injuries or certain illnesses turn to massage as a method of easing pain, including patients in treatment for cancer. Massage promotes an increase in vitality, improves wellbeing and supports the release of stress to restore more balance to one’s physiology and anatomy. Massage increases blood and lymph flow. Improved oxygen uptake at the tissue level eases pain, reduces stiffness and improves immobility that can be experienced by patients undergoing treatment for cancer. Massage can ease the effects of cancer and cancer treatment and promote relaxation. Massage is beneficial in reducing anxiety and encourages a general feeling of peacefulness and balance. Research demonstrates that massage can improve the general health and well being patients undergoing treatment for cancer and in recovery.

‘Compassionate care, tough on pain. ”
Andrew Wolfe is without question the best massage therapist that has worked with me. After a serious motor vehicle accident, Andrew helped to bring my upper body into perfect mobility. The emphasis was on breaking down scar tissue and focusing on the area of injury. I would highly recommend Andrew to anyone who is looking for rehabilitation — since the results I experienced were phenomenal’. Holly Lyman
